Company Profile
Metalflex is part of the AC Components Group, one of Australia’s leading supplier of air-conditioning and componentry products.
Metalflex was founded in 1999, in a small factory in Northgate Drive in Thomastown by Russell and Gael Amiguet. From small beginnings of a team of 3, Metalflex quickly grew – achieving sales and growth beyond first expectations. Establishing its second branch in Dandenong in 2000 and moving Thomastown to a larger location, Metalflex continued its primary focus of excellent customer service – reaching its 10 year growth goal within the first 2 years. This made it necessary to open a third branch in 2002 in Sunshine, and a fourth location in Boronia in 2004. Thomastown followed the accomplishment by outgrowing its facility in 2007, and moving in to its third building in Brand Drive.
Still looking to grow the company further, in 2009 AC Components acquired the Air Plus business. This decision almost doubled the size of the Group overnight. As a result, today the combined businesses offer the broadest range of componentry products and a wide selection of unit air-conditioning brands under the one roof.
A.C. Components was created as the parent company for Metalflex and Air Plus to follow the future strategy of growth.
Today AC Components has 15 branches nationally:
In December 2010, the AC Components Group was acquired by Actrol Parts which in turn is managed by Catalyst Investment Managers, a leading Australasian Private Equity firm. Although part of the larger Actrol Group of companies, AC Components today is run independently of the Actrol Parts business with a future strategy of:
In October 2011, AC Components acquired the Metalflex South Australia and Metalflex Western Australia business operations, continuing its national expansion.
